Trespassing

Trespassing handelt auf mehrdeutige Weise vom Übertreten einer Grenze. Der Titel bezieht sich auf den massiven Ressourcenabbau und dem in seiner Folge Entstehen neuer Landschaften im australischen Outback. Reich an Gold, Eisenerz und Uran, ist das Outback heute vor allem eine Wirtschaftszone, die die Kontinuität von Prosperität und wirtschaftlichem Wachstum gewährleisten soll. Für die indigene Bevölkerung hingegen sind diese Gebiete von tiefgreifender kultureller und spiritueller Bedeutung.
Die Arbeiten der Serie überzeichnen die unterschiedlichen Einschreibungen in den Naturraum bildnerisch und atmosphärisch. Die so entstandenen Bilder vermitteln in ikonischer Weise den Wandlungsprozess, den diese Gegenden in Gestalt und Bedeutung durchlaufen. Die Bildtitel der einzelnen Arbeiten verweisen auf die einzelnen realen Orte und werden zusammen mit dem geförderten bzw. verarbeiteten Rohstoff angegeben.

Trespassing is an ambiguous and ambivalent story about crossing a border. The title refers to the massive extraction of resources and the resulting creation of new landscapes in the Australian outback. Rich in gold, iron ore and uranium, the outback is primarily an economic zone these days that is intended to ensure continued prosperity and economic growth. However, this is contrast to the indigenous population’s perspective, who view these areas as places of profound cultural and spiritual importance.The works in the series exaggerates the different inscriptions in the natural space in a visual and atmospheric way. The resulting images convey iconically the process of change that these areas are going through, in terms of form and meaning. The titles of the individual works within the Trespassing context refer to actual individual locations and are joined together with the raw material mined or processed.
