The Texture of the Sea ist Titel einer multimedialen Installation, die den Meeresraum gedanklich mit dem Weltall verknüpft. Das Meer ist hier Element und Körper, Kosmos und Materie. The Texture of the Sea erkundet einen Lebensraum voller unbekannter Phänomene, welche in der Morphologie der gezeigten Meeresbewohner Gestalt findet, bis in die feinstofflichen Ebenen hinein. Planktonische Tiere erscheinen hier als Planeten, als kosmische Körper in männlicher oder weiblicher Gestalt. Ihre Interaktionen im Miteinander sowie als Reaktion auf die Einflüsse äußerer Störungen stehen im Zentrum dieser Arbeit.

The Texture of the Sea is the title of a multimedia installation that conceptually links the sea with the universe. Here, the sea is at once an element and a body, a cosmos and a matter. The Texture of the Sea explores a habitat full of unknown phenomena, which find their form in the morphology of the shown sea creatures; all the way down to subtle levels. Planktonic animals in male or female form appear here as planets, as cosmic bodies. Their interactions with one another and their reaction to the influence of external disturbance is at the center of this work.
